Well here's the solution! This American made Land Mine Detector,
Model AN/PRS-4, has a significant depth sensitivity for detecting
Land Mines along with a variety of other buried items. Further, it
won't ignore valuable coins or metal jewelry.
The unit comes complete with the Control Head, Receiver, Head
Phones, Collapsible Shaft, Pick-Up Coil, and handy Carrying Case
as shown. A clear schematic of the circuitry is on the inside
cover of most units, but instruction manuals not available.
These units have not been tested, are "as received" from
the government, and sold "as-is"; batteries not
included. Overall dimensions are 30.5" L x 10.5" H x
14.5" W. Each unit weighs approximately 48 lbs.

P.S. A comment from one of our customers in the Military: Hello,
just wanted to let you know, CR-123 photo batteries work great in
this unit and are an exact fit. These are avalible from Radio
Shack for about $23.00 a set. I am the battalion supply officer
for the Carolina State Guard and we use this detector alot. It's a
very good unit.
