Powerful New 1/3 HP DC Motor

Well this is the motor. A powerful and hefty U.S. Army Force Turret Drive 1/3 HP DC Electric Motor made by several manufacturers, Model 58A50G11, Contract No. W535AC 31369, operating at 3000 RPM, 27 volts DC on the field, (27 - 60 volts on the armature) and 5.4 amps. These motors are manufactured by G.E., Emerson, Jack & Heintz, etc. This used - good condition - take-off motor is shunt wound, has sealed bearings, and is rated continuous duty, so it will keep going while the competition fries. It is possible to reverse its direction.

The motor has a 5/8" x 2-1/4" L worm shaft. The motor uses a four hole "flange mount" used to firmly position and attach the motor. LOA 8-3/4" x 4-1/4" W x 4-1/4" H. Connect to the motor via the three pin connector shown on the left. Add an inexpensive rheostat for variable motor speed control or get sophisticated with a SCR speed controller for greater power economy.
