41 HP DC Electric Locomotive Traction Motor

This motor will be great for an Electric Car, Electric Train, or any other type of Electric Vehicle. This is an unused Westinghouse, series wound, open enclosure, locomotive duty, DC traction motor, developing 41 HP @ 1475 RPM, maximum safe RPM is 3500 (when coming down the mountain).

We've been told but not confirmed that it is used in Goodman Trackmaster Locomotives. Other specifications include: Armature 250 volts DC, 137 Amps, 25 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. The frame is an OX-3609, style 3282B16G02, Insulation Class F. The motor has 4 leads 36" long, two for the armature and two for the field windings; the leads are to be connected in series. To reverse the motor, simply reverse the two field winding connections.

The motor has a 27 tooth spline (No. 41.314 dia) 1.7325" diameter by 2.26" (3-1/8" overall) long drive shaft. Other dimensions are: LOA: 35-5/8" Length Frame Mount Tab: 5" Length Motor Frame: 27.5" Length Shaft: 3-1/8" Width at Flange: 19.5" Width Motor Frame: 16.5" These motors were for narrow gauge locomotives that (we were told) were used in underground mining operations. Each motor weighs approximately 800 lbs. (which provides an inertially dampened smooth ride) plus a 20 lb. shipping skid.

We have just a few of these motors left and will give the freight cost when contacted by serious buyers with their zip code. Your price $950.00 plus shipping.
