Well this is the motor. A powerful and hefty 1/4 HP General Electric DC Motor, Mo. #5BC 46 AB 1810, on a 46AB frame, operating at 1140 RPM, 24 volts DC, and 11 amps. This used - good condition - take-off motor is compound wound, has sealed bearings, and is rated continuous duty, so it will keep going while the competition fries. It is possible to reverse its direction. The motor has a 5/8" shaft with a 1-1/2" diameter single groove pulley mounted on it. The motor "foot mount" has four slotted holes used to firmly position and attach the motor. Add an inexpensive rheostat for variable motor speed control or get sophisticated with a SCR speed controller for greater power economy.
